Terms of Service
Acceptance and electronic consent
These Terms govern the MenuBrief website and applications (the “Service”). When the app presents these Terms and you select “Agree & Continue,” you electronically agree to the displayed version. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
MenuBrief organizes restaurant identity data, menu research, source evidence, and questions to ask around Vegan, Vegetarian, AIP, Celiac/GF, Seed-Oil-Free, Strict Keto, allergy, and similar protocols. Restaurant details, menus, ingredients, preparation, hours, prices, and locations may be incomplete, inaccurate, expire, conflict, or change without notice.
What a protocol result means
A favorable result means MenuBrief’s current review workflow found qualifying evidence under the displayed protocol and review date. It does not mean that MenuBrief, the restaurant, or a medical professional certified a kitchen, dish, employee, supplier, or future preparation. Neutral discovery listings have not been approved as protocol matches. Expired, revoked, disputed, or superseded evidence must not be treated as favorable.
Food, allergy, and cross-contact safety
MenuBrief does not inspect kitchens, test food, supervise employees, audit suppliers, or certify allergen controls. Shared fryers, grills, utensils, surfaces, storage, ingredients, recipes, substitutions, and cross-contact practices vary. “Gluten-free,” “vegan,” “seed-oil-free,” or any other protocol label is not an allergy-safety guarantee. If an error could affect your health, contact the restaurant directly, explain your needs, ask the displayed questions, and make your own decision.
Evidence, dates, and corrections
A source or review date means an identified source was reviewed on that date; it does not guarantee future accuracy. MenuBrief may display uncertainty, conflicting evidence, missing answers, expiration, or revocation. Report suspected errors, outdated information, unsafe guidance, closed locations, or rights concerns through our corrections process. We may qualify, expire, revoke, correct, or remove content at any time.
No affiliation or endorsement
Restaurant, product, award, and brand names are used descriptively. Unless expressly stated, MenuBrief is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or certified by those businesses, and they do not approve MenuBrief’s protocol reviews. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Acceptable use
- Use the Service for personal, non-commercial dining research.
- Do not scrape, bulk-copy, or republish MenuBrief as a competing dataset or product.
- Do not disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Do not submit deliberately false, misleading, dangerous, infringing, or unlawful material.
Contributions
If MenuBrief accepts evidence or corrections from users, submission does not create an approved protocol verdict. We may verify, reject, edit, quarantine, or remove submissions. You represent that you may provide the material and grant MenuBrief permission to review, store, reproduce, and use it to operate and improve the Service.
Third-party services and stores
Directions, reservations, restaurant websites, map providers, and app stores are third parties governed by their own terms. If paid features are introduced, price, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be disclosed before purchase and applicable Apple or Google terms will also apply.
Not medical advice
MenuBrief provides general restaurant and menu research. It is not medical, nutritional, allergy, or dietetic advice and is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Consult an appropriate professional before making dietary changes, particularly if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, take medication, or face a risk from exposure.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that a result, restaurant statement, ingredient, preparation, or protocol match is correct for the meal you receive.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MenuBrief and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for health outcomes, losses, or expenses arising from use of or reliance on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability is limited to the greater of the amount paid to MenuBrief in the preceding twelve months or twenty-five US dollars.
Privacy, termination, and changes
Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Policy explain data practices. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service. You may stop using it at any time. Material changes will receive a new effective date and version; renewed consent will be requested when required.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in state or federal courts located in Florida unless applicable law requires otherwise. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains effective.
